Ingredients (for 1 loaf):
-
For the dough:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg, room temperature
-
For the filling:
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
-
For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tbsp milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, yeast, salt, and granulated sugar. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface. Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm spot for 1–1.5 hours (until doubled in size).
- For the filling: Mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until creamy. Set aside.
- Punch down the risen dough. Roll it out on a floured surface into a 12x18-inch rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border.
- Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal. Slice into 12 even rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover with a towel and let rise for 30–45 minutes (until puffy).
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- For the glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
Serve fresh—soft, sweet, and full of warm cinnamon flavor!
