Ingredients (1 loaf)
- 3 ripe bananas (very soft, with brown spots)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash the bananas in a bowl until smooth (some lumps are okay). Stir in melted butter.
- Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla. Mix well until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients. Stir just until no flour is visible (don’t overmix). Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into the greased pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
